Emeritus Pastor James Williams

Emeritus Pastor James Williams
Pastor, Elder James Williams, Jr.

Elder James Williams was born in Monticello, Florida on October 21, 1929. He has been a pastor with the Church of God by Faith organization since January 1956, 60 years.  At a very young age he moved to High Springs, Florida to live with his aunt and uncle, Mr. & Mrs. James Williams. In 1947 he married Miss Cora Lee Wilson from Tallahassee, Florida. To this union, eleven (11) children were born; two are deceased. Mother Cora Williams departed this life on March 11, 2015.

Before departing this life, Mother Williams served along side Elder Williams while he preached the gospel. In addition they served as leaders of the Gainesville District for 44 years, 1970 through 2014. The Lord blessed them tremendously down through the years, giving them strength to stand in tough times, and by giving them knowledge and understanding of His will and His way. He blessed them with spiritual wisdom. As a result they touched the lives of many, teaching them and leading them to Christ, and sharing the Gospel as God gave them utterance.

In addition to spiritual wisdom and guidance, God blessed Elder Williams with skills in construction and maintenance. He built three(3) current-standing churches on the Gainesville District (Williston, Newberry, and High Springs).

Elder Williams remarried on August 15, 2015 to Ms. Elizabeth Law.  God continues to lead him and Mother Elizabeth Williams on this christian journey.
