Elder Joseph Dix is the Pastor of the Lake City Church of God by Faith. He was born in Union County, Providence, Florida and lived on a farm with his siblings and parents. He attended Hopewell Church of God by Faith where he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age.
In the year of 1954, Elder Dix moved to Gainesville, Florida and began attending Gainesville Church of God by Faith and began working for the State of Department of Transportation. He worked there until he retired with 30 years and 21 days of service. His additional trade skills consisted of painter, carpenter, and yard service.
Elder Dix received several awards; The Safety Commendation Award, and was promoted to a supervisor position; The Rolfe Mickler State of Florida District Engineer Award; and The Service Recognition and Retirement Award.
Elder Dix married his devoted wife, the late Mrs. Gertrude Dix, August 1956. The couple have two children, a daughter, Janice and a son, Joseph, Jr.
Elder Dix's commitment to Christ is growing stronger each day to do God's work. He was elected Deacon at Gainesville Church of God by Faith under the leadership of Bishop J. E. McKnight, Sr. where he served as Chairman of the Gainesville District Finance Board 1973 to 1993. He received a 25-year SERVICE AWARD from the Gainesville District on August 29, 1998, presented by District Elder Dr. James Williams. He was a member of Gainesville Church of God by Faith Senior Choir for many years, becoming President and receiving a CERTIFICATE OF RECOGNITION for his faithfulness and devoted service in 1977.
After completing 9 years of specialized training required by Church of God by Faith, Inc. Ministers Training, Elder Dix received a CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION, signed by Bishop J.E. McKnight, Sr. and the National Church of God by Faith, Inc. Secretary, Elder George Matthews.
In 1998, he was assigned to Lake City Mission Church of God by Faith, Inc. Lake City, Florida as pastor.
